NAME: Chamomilethorn (Chamomilekit --> Chamomilepaw --> Chamomilethorn) GENDER: Tom AGE: 60 moons CLAN: ThunderClan POSITION: Medicine Cat
APPEARANCE:
PELT COLOR: His pelt is a mix of gray and white, more like gray as a base color with white spots and splashes here and there. The white patches became more distinct with age, and he was actually born almost completely gray. Over time they just came over the gray spots and continued to grow. Now they blend with his gray fur and for the most part don’t seem to have a beginning or an end on his pelt, they just come in at some point. PELT LENGTH: His fur is rather long, good at keeping him warm in general at most times, although it gets tangles often and he must continually groom it to keep it looking nice. It does well to keep him warm though, even though it is horrendous when wet and sometimes rather sticky in Greenleaf, because it is never to thin even then. MARKINGS: Chamomilethonr has no really distinct markings on his pelt, it is either gray or white or both, and doesn’t really even have darker spots or lines that don’t match in with the lightness of the other colors on his pelt. EYE COLOR: His eyes are a dark green color that appears lighter in light, but is quite dark otherwise. BUILD: Even though he doesn’t like fighting to much, Chamomilethorn is a larger cat than the average, and is built to have the strength to withstand an attack. He is also very healthy and doesn’t get sick often, which makes him more capable to serve his Clan. He is sturdy, and although he tends to lack in speed, Chamomilethorn has a strong body and good strength that helps to keep him healthy and strong. It severely cuts off from his speed though, and while Chamomilethorn might be able to run a long distance at a relatively slow running pace, he cannot sprint like other, lighter cats can. Even when he was younger he wasn’t the best at it. He knows his strengths and his weaknesses after moons of learning from mistakes, and tends to know what he can and cannot do so he doesn’t stretch his limits. Being a medicine cat, he doesn’t need all the skills the warriors have.
STRENGTHS:
He is both strong and healthy, a good combination for a cat that is around others that are sick a lot of the time. He is also rather large in size, which could be intimidating if he wanted it be, although Chamomilethorn isn’t for those kinds of things. He is strong enough to defend himself or others if needed, and would be willing to do so as well, since he has lots of loyalty to his duties as a medicine cat. WEAKNESSES:
A rather bad runner for the most part, not able to keep up with other cats when they start running ahead. Chamomilethorn’s body is to compact and heavy for him to be very good at running, especially sprinting. He isn’t the most agile cat either, and some of his senses start to fail with his growing age, although for the most part Chamomilethorn can still hear, see, and smell perfectly fine. He tends to fall if someone smashes into him hard enough, and can have a hard time holding his balance well.
PERSONALITY:
POSITIVES:
- Usually quite kind to everyone and always willing to help anyone that is sick to help them get better.
- Hates to see sickness of any kind and all, especially things like blackcough that he can’t cure. Losing someone only makes him want to try harder.
- Completely loyal to his Clan, and willing to die for any of his Clanmates. He would never leave his Clan for a cat he loved.
- Shows compassion to any sick cat, no matter where they are from, and always wants to help anyone that needs it. He doesn’t believe in letting a cat die because they are from another Clan or even a rogue.
- Loves to follow the warrior code with all his heart, along with the medicine cat code, and only breaks anything to help a cat that needs it.
- Will generally stand up for what he thinks is right, although he can be quite at times as well.
- Has grown wise through all his moons and is quite glad to put his wisdom to good use for the Clan, if anyone will listen to him.
- Has a good memory about all the herbs and sicknesses that a cat can get, and knows where the herbs in his Clan’s territory are.
NEGATIVES:
- Can get irritable, especially young and jumpy cats that are very hyper and don’t sit still. He’s really only comfortable with calm cats.
- Sometimes gets impatient, especially when he is in a hurry, although he usually isn’t.
- Can get quite snappy when he is annoyed, on edge, or really worried or concerned about someone. Can say things he doesn’t mean as well.
- Tends to have a bad feeling about apprentices in general because they tend to be jumpy, and doesn’t think he could bond with a rowdy apprentice.
- Likes to be alone sometime, and could be gone from camp when he is needed, or be upset in general if he doesn’t have time alone.
- Would distrust any really young Clan leader/deputy because he feels they wouldn’t know enough for the position, and wouldn’t like a leader that made a young cat deputy.
LIKES:
- Anything beautiful in general is something Chamomilethorn can appreciate.
- Loves being around quiet and peaceful things that make little noise if any at all.
- Both the dawn and dusk times are day are times he finds beautiful, partially because it is quiet and because the sun lights up the sky in a lovely way.
- Chamomilethorn likes both the sun and the moon, the sun for lighting up the sky, and the moon for its beautiful glow.
- He finds the stars an interesting enigma and loves to watch them twinkle in the sky at night.
- Chamomilethorn likes the look of a flat landscape, that stretches in all directions and seems to go on forever, with no bumps, kind of like a large grassy field.
DISLIKES:
- He dislikes fighting other cats and also the idea of fighting in general, although he knows lengthy peace is very hard to obtain without fighting.
- Hyperactiveness is a pet peeve of Chamomilethorn’s, and any hyperactive cat is annoying, along with the general concept.
- He greatly dislikes death, although he sees much of it and does everything he can to prevent it.
- Noise, even normal bustle and hustle, is annoying to him if to lengthy or to loud, which is why he likes to be alone sometimes.
- Disease he fears a little, but also doesn’t like much at all, because it leads to death and even more disease.
- Bad news, which there tends to be a lot of, is something Chamomilethorn would like to go without hearing.
Fears:
Chamomilethorn, first and foremost, fears blackcough, for its ravaging effects. It leaves death in its path whenever it comes by, and he knows of no way to stop it. If there was one thing that Chamomilethorn could get rid of, it would be blackcough. He would be glad to completely eradicate it so no one had to worry about it any longer. He knows that there is no cure, but is glad to take care of any affected cat for as long as they have left to live before moving on to StarClan.
He also fears the idea of youth in power, because he knows that it would just cause bad decisions that could destroy the Clan or their way of life. Chamomilethorn thinks that young cats should never be leaders of the Clan, or even deputies, until they have enough experience to be capable of it.
Habits:
Chamomilethorn often checks over the herbs he has. It is very important to him to have enough of everything in stock, and he also likes to have it neat and organized, so he can often be found looking over his supplies and making sure that everything is where it should be and that he has enough of everything to take care of around three cats that would need it at a time.
He tends to go out and search for herbs a lot. He knows where they all are, but Chamomilethorn still likes to go out and gather more if he needs it, and go see how all the herbs are doing in general. He hates running low, and if the herb is scarce on the Clan’s land, he will go all over the place seeing if there is some patch of it he has always missed before, although this doesn’t really happen, and he also just likes to go about and wander on his own in general.
Goals:
Chamomilethorn’s main goal is the goal every medicine cat of a Clan should have: to loyally serve his Clan and leader until he retires or dies. That is something he plans to stick to doing, for Chamomilethorn would never want to be a warrior, and he doesn’t want to disgrace his Clan either. He really wants to just help his leader and all the cats of his Clan for as long as he can.
Dreams:
Chamomilethorn sometimes dreams about having is own apprentice, since in all of his moons as a medicine cat he has never had one, nor even seen a kit interested in it. He doesn’t want a jumpy apprentice though, he wants a calm one, like himself. Chamomilethorn feels he couldn’t teach a jumpy apprentice very well, and would prefer a quieter one. He really does want someone to pass his knowledge on to though.
Secrets:
Chamomilethorn doesn’t keep secrets usually, but if a dying cat tells him something they have always kept to themselves, he makes sure to not tell anyone. Any secrets he does know are secrets he never plans on telling anyone that doesn’t really need to know. Chamomilethonr does pry much himself either, and would gladly let a cat keep their secrets if he didn’t think it was something vital that he needed to know.
RELATIONSHIPS:
MOTHER: Waterweb – A white, rather pretty she-cat with a generally uplifted spirit, and was always supportive of the cats in her Clan. FATHER: Burningbelly – A ginger with black patches tom that can be rather lazy, and also somewhat joking, but completely loyal to his Clan and a good hunter and fighter. SIBLINGS: Duskdream – Nearly pure black she-cat that is rather talkative, but a good warrior. Finchtalon – White and tan she-cat that can be rather quiet at times, but still a good stalker.
Webtail{/s] – A black and white tom that was somewhat ambitious and also very peppy. MENTOR: None CRUSH/MATE: Never will be one
HISTORY:
I was born along with my brother, Webkit, and my two sisters, Duskkit and Finchkit. Waterweb was always there to protect us while we were kits, and many times I would stay by her in the nursery and watch my siblings playfight if I didn’t want to join in. Burningbelly, my father, would come by every so often, but he had a lot to do with the Clan as well. He would tell us all about loyalty and how we would be warriors someday and that we must always remain loyal to ThunderClan. I took what he said to heart and always knew that my Clan would be first above everything else. I think Burningbelly was good enough to be deputy of the Clan, but there were plenty of other cats who were just as deserving, and so he never was. Still, he always did his best for the Clan, and that makes me rather proud.
By the time we became apprentices, I felt ready for it. I loved learning just about everything there was to learn. I was really quiet glad that I didn’t end up as a warrior apprentice. I had always liked watching the medicine cat, and decided at one point that I wanted to do that as well. I asked the medicine cat if I could be their apprentice, and I suppose they talked to the leader about it, because when the mentors got announced, I was on my way to being a medicine cat. I was apart from my siblings, but I didn’t mind much at all. Learning all those herbs and illnesses was fun and interesting for me, and I was always glad to learn more.
I got my medicine cat name a while after my siblings became Webtail, Duskdream, and Finchtalon, but I was okay with that. They were happy and supportive of me as well. I have seen many moons, and although Burningbelly has retired, little else has changed. My mother and brother died, but I still have my sisters and father around. I’ve always felt lucky for that. I know that some other cats lost their whole family, but I am very lucky to still have most of mine here. I’ve found my life’s calling, and I plan to stick with it. Someday I really want an apprentice to teach, but I’ll have one, and then they can follow in my pawsteps and be the next medicine cat of ThunderClan.
OTHER:
I plan to have him die at some point. (After he has an apprentice of course)
(So I don’t forget) He gets snappish around younger cats and is usually happy, and always peace loving, willing to help anyone that needs it. Loves beauty and quiet of any sort.
(I am not proud of his history, but he has an uneventful past. Someone has too.)
