Bloodpool awoke groggily after a night of deep sleep and no dreams. She stretched her legs inhaling a deep breath of Newleaf air with a tint of herbs wafting from further up a head and behind in her den, as she kept two different piles of herbs, one in the front, and one behind her nest. Bloodpool decided she would have to go and restock on herbs today, as she proceeded through her den she blinked as the sunlight washed over her fur making bits of it look a deep rich brown though it was truly black. She examined the camp for a moment noticing the small kits bumbling out of the nursery playing wildly with a ball of moss. Seeing this Bloodpool thought of how she was in need of more borage leaves. Just as she reached the exit to the camp her stomach let out an audible Grrrrumble..... Blood decided she would have to eat before departing, she quickly devoured a rabbit reluctantly. It had been caught last night as the morning patrol had not returned yet, it was cold and stale, not quite crowfood, but not appetizing either. Bloodpool took a quick inventory of the herbs that she needed more awake after the rabbit.
Finally, Bloodpool exited the camp heading toward the lake knowing that borage grew well in big clumps down there. As Bloodpool approached the water she got a bit scared that it might sweep her away. She made sure to stay two fox lengths from the edge as she collected the necessary leaves. She passed a marigold patch she had temporarily forgotten about and she decided having some of that would be nice too. As she was traveling back she caught whiff of a rabbit even through her mouthful of two plants. She dropped the plants gently to the ground hoping she could catch it this time. She dropped into a failed hunting crouch, but she was downwind at least. She crept up on the rabbit which was more than close enough to pounce on, she kept creeping, and as she found it in her sight she saw it was hurt. She thought Surely I can catch this one.. it's right under my nose Indeed it was. And just as she was practically hovering over it, her tail dropped and rustled a hedge, the rabbit sprinted off. Bloodpool tried to keep up with it, but she couldn't manage to kill it. Yet again, a failed attempt at hunting.
Bloodpool moped back to the plants and returned to the camp, nothing eventful happening on the way back. She placed the herbs in their respectful places and went to bask on one of the rocks on the edge of camp. She eventually fell asleep...
